本實驗由2010年一月至2011年一月研究彰化王功及新竹香山兩地區之中華淺鰓虱與其寄生宿主中華蚶豆蟹的寄生生物學。同時根據月別殼甲寬及體長頻度分布推測此兩族群的本托蘭斐生長方程式(Von Bertalanffy growth function)。
實驗共檢視4136隻中華蚶豆蟹,全為雌性。全年中約有37.5%的中華蚶豆蟹被中華淺鰓虱所寄生且被寄生豆蟹皆無法抱卵。其他未被寄生的豆蟹中,有48.59%為抱卵的個體。兩地的寄生率及抱卵率皆未達顯著差異。被中華淺鰓虱寄生的中華蚶豆蟹殼甲寬範圍為2.93 mm至12.34 mm;主要被寄生的殼甲寬範圍為4- 10 mm。未被寄生的豆蟹殼甲寬範圍由1.92 mm至12.69 mm。兩地區的豆蟹殼甲寬並無顯著差異,但兩地未被寄生的豆蟹殼甲寬皆顯著大於被寄生的豆蟹殼甲寬。中華淺鰓虱兩地族群中的雌性比例為70.5%。中華淺鰓虱最常見的寄生組合為一隻雄性個體與一隻雌性個體同時寄生於一隻豆蟹上。中華淺鰓虱的體長與中華蚶豆蟹的殼甲寬並無顯著相關性(王功地區: 雌性:R2=0.29,雄性:R2=0.10;香山地區:雌性:R2=0.20,雄性:R2=0.33)。中華淺鰓虱的平均孕卵數為3955顆(N= 15,SD= 1784),鰓虱體長與其孕卵數並無顯著的相關性(R2=0.5081)。
利用魚群評估工具FiSAT II推算出兩地區中華蚶豆蟹及中華淺鰓虱的本托蘭斐方程式結果如下:
王功地區
中華蚶豆蟹為L_t=12.33[〖1-e〗^(-1.76(t)+1.76/(2π×sin2π (t-0.5) ))]
雌性中華淺鰓虱為L_t=8.91[〖1-e〗^(-1.51(t)+1.51/(2π×sin2π (t-0.5) ))]
雄性中華淺鰓虱為L_t=6.23[〖1-e〗^(-1.5(t)+1.5/(2π×sin2π (t-0.5) ))]
香山地區
中華蚶豆蟹為L_t=12.06[〖1-e〗^(-1.76(t)+1.76/(2π×sin2π (t-0.5) ))]
雌性中華淺鰓虱為L_t=8.27[〖1-e〗^(-2.51(t)+2.51/(2π×sin2π (t-0.5) ))]
雄性中華淺鰓虱為L_t=5.5[〖1-e〗^(-2.01(t)+2.01/(2π×sin2π (t-0.5) ))]
根據生長方程式的生長表現指數推測,中華蚶豆蟹及其寄生物中華淺鰓虱於香山地區的族群的較王功地區的族群有較良好的生長表現。
Parasitical relationships between pea crab Arcotheres sinensis (Shen,1932) and Rhopalione sinensis Markham, 1986 were investigated from January 2010 to January 2011 at Changhua Wanggong and Hsinchu Xianshan inTaiwan. The Von Bertalanffy growth function of two different populations of A.sinensis and R.sinensis were estimated based on length frequency distribution.
Total of 4136 individuals of A. sinensis were checked, all of them are female. In annually, 37.5% of A. sinensis had R. sinensis parasites, and which none of them was brooding. The other crabs free of parasite, 48.5% of them were ovigerous individuals. There are no significant differences in the parasite prevalence and the prevalence of ovigerous individuals between two locations. The carapace width of crab parasite by R. sinensis ranges from 2.93 mm to 12.34mm; major ranged was 4- 10 mm. The carapace width of individuals free of parasites ranged from 1.92 mm to 12.69 mm. There were no significant differences in the carapace width between two locations, but the carapace width of individuals free of parasites significantly larger than the individuals with R. sinensis parasite at both locations. The prevalence of female in the populations with R. sinensis was 70.5% at two locations. The most prevalence combination of parasite was one male and one female on one pea crabs. The body length of R. sinensis was not significantly correlated with carapace width of host crab (Wanggong: female:R2=0.29, male: R2=0.10;Xiangshan: female: R2=0.20, male: R2=0.33). The mean fecundity of R. sinensis was 3955 (N= 15, SD= 1784) and individual fecundity was not significantly correlated with their body length (R2=0.5081).

According to the growth performance indices estimated by VBGF, both A. sinensis and their parasite R. sinensis at Xiangshan had better performance than at Wanggong in 2010.
