本論文主要是探討人體的手脈、腳脈在進餐前後,胃的活動所引起之變化和其規律性。希望藉由時域的分析方法,得到胃腸活動對於脈搏波的影響以及對身體活動的作用關係。受測對象的年齡介於十九歲到三十五歲之間,且全部皆為男性。而進食的食物是以一般的便當為主。結果顯示,進食對於人體的手脈以及腳脈是有影響的,並且其影響具有某種程度的規律性。我們發現,在進食過後,手脈的主波高度會下降,手脈的重搏波高度也會受到進食的影響而下降;在腳脈方面,我們則是觀察到,腳脈的主波高度在進食過後反而和手脈的主波高度變化相反,會變得比未進食前大,至於腳脈的重搏波高度變化則是和手脈的變化類似,會受進食的影響而下降,除此之外,我們還觀察到腳脈主波高度和重搏波高度的比值也會隨著進食的影響而上升。最後,經過腳脈主波高度、重搏波高度以及腳脈主波高度和重搏波高度比值的交叉比對,我們可以得出腳脈主波高度和重搏波高度的比值上升,其主要因素是因為心臟舒張收縮使血液分配到腹部腸胃以及腳的力量變強,而非血管彈性造成的主動脈彈性回縮波變小所引起的。故我們可知在進食過後,血液分配到腳的力量變強、手的力量變弱。故使得腳脈的最高壓力增加,而手脈的最高壓力下降。
