This study aimed to explore the current status of well-being and job engagement among elementary school teachers in Kinmen County, as well as to analyze the relationship between job engagement and well-being, and the impact of well-being on job engagement. A questionnaire survey method was adopted, targeting full-time elementary school teachers in Kinmen County. Stratified random sampling was used to collect data, with a total of 253 questionnaires distributed. A total of 238 were returned (77 online and 161 paper-based), yielding a return rate of 94%, among which 227 were valid, with a usable rate of 90%. Research instruments included the Teacher Job Engagement Scale and the Teacher Well-being Scale. Data analysis methods included descriptive statistics, independent sample t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The major findings are summarized as follows:
1. Elementary school teachers in Kinmen County demonstrated a high level of job engagement, with the highest perceived dimension being "work focus," and the lowest being "work enjoyment."
2. Teachers’ well-being was at a moderately high level, with "positive relationships" scoring the highest and "physical and mental health" the lowest.
3. There was a strong positive correlation between job engagement and well-being, with the highest correlation found between "work achievement" and "work enjoyment."
4. "Work achievement" had the greatest influence on overall job engagement. The findings indicated that among all dimensions of well-being, "work achievement" was the most significant predictor of job engagement, accounting for 29.4% of the variance.
Based on the findings, this study provides suggestions for educational authorities, schools, teachers, and future related research.
