長久以來人工智慧一直著重在理性的研究。 理性代理人能為短期利益,在單一代理人環境做出最佳的決定,卻無法在長期,互相了解的多代理人環境中取得較佳的利益。 本文探討理性及非理性的極限與其存在的背景,提出以情緒為基礎的代理人架構,希望藉由情緒代理人架構解釋眾多非理性行為對於代理人的好處,在長期多代理人系統中,代理人以情緒解釋各種狀態,利用情緒的特質,以趨近快樂遠離痛苦的基本原則,快速評估環境,做出最快樂的決定。
在道德-情緒架構中,情緒分成了較理性,對事物利益判斷帶有人格偏見的喜好情緒以及非理性,但隱藏著長遠利益偏見的道德情感,道德情感再分成相信絕對道德規範的義務論道德情感,以及關心眾人利益的目的論道德情感。 除了將情緒依理性非理性分類以外,也以事物觀察的向度將情緒分類,以利於架構中的規劃決策使用。 最後討論本文與本架構不足之處,並且提出一些未來可能的解決方向與與期待。
