目前光碟機的研發大致上是朝高密度、高倍速的趨勢發展,而在這樣的發展趨勢下,讀出訊號(RF、FE、TE)失真的情況也相對的較為嚴重,容易造成讀回資料(0、1)的判斷錯誤和伺服系統控制上的困難。如果能了解光碟機讀取頭的光路運作模型,則能增加對讀出訊號的了解,也有助於日後對光碟機系統的改善。本論文針對Hitachi之HOP-1000讀取頭,利用波動光學的基本理論去建立對應之光路數學模型,強調的是對光碟機讀取頭系統的完整架構,不單針對空間中(spatial-domain)的光強度分布作討論,且對時態上(time-domain)的訊號作分析,並且由HOP-1000的量測數據與模擬結果相符,驗證了本論文架構的準確度。
