This action study aimed to investigate the impact of high-risk students' participation in a stray dog caring group program on their attitudes towards life. The research objectives include: 1. To design a group program for caring for stray dogs for senior high school students; 2. To evaluate the impact of this research design on stray dogs through pre- and post-tests, observation records and interviews through the Life Attitude Scale. Changes in students' attitudes towards life, and learning from them; 3. Propose the design and practice of the future application of caring stray dogs group program to high-risk students in the way of action research.
The research method is in the form of action research. The researchers observe the high-risk students in the teaching process through the caring stray dog group program, and collect data through interviews, self-reflection, etc. The best group conduct model, and then explore the impact of participating in this group on the attitude of high-risk students to life. The pre-test is carried out with the Life Attitude Scale, which integrates the six frameworks of life attitude: "Life Ideal", "Life Autonomy", "Love and Care", "Sense of Presence", "Life Experience", and "Death Attitude". In the design care for stray dogs group program, a total of 11 groups are held, once a week, with two classes at a time.
The participating members of the study are eight high-risk students, and the activity venue is mainly the animal shelter adjacent to the school. Looking at the pre- and post-test results from descriptive statistics, the attitude towards life of the high-risk students in the group is affected, and there is a slight positive growth in all dimensions. According to the qualitative analysis results of the interviews, the members of the research group have positive experiences and gains in life attitudes. The recommendations of this research are in three directions, which are from the design of the group, the conduct of the group and future research to provide future researchers Actionable advice.
