The purpose of this study was to explore the association between attachment and Theory of Mind in young children. Ninety three children in ages of four to six years old were recruited from a private kindergarten in the northern area of Taiwan. One attachment scale and three measures of Theory of Mind including false belief task, emotional understanding task and deception task were utilized. Results showed a nearly normal distribution for attachment. Significant age difference was found in Theory of mind for children among three different age levels, while no sex difference was found. Finally, attachment and emotional understanding were associated to some extent.
