旅遊具有教育與文化的功能，綜觀過去的研究，較少調查兒童的實際旅遊經驗以及探究旅遊對兒童的影響。透過旅遊活動，可對兒童產生學習的效果，而其中一種學習就是地理知識。地方感是近年來環境心理學或其他相關領域常被討論的議題之一，地方感強調了人與地方的互動關係。兒童的旅遊活動，讓兒童更認識環境，對該地產生的好感或者熟悉感，會讓兒童變得更依附該地。
從國內諸多研究文獻發現，探討鄉土地理知識的相關文獻甚多，但探討兒童的旅遊經驗對地理知識與地方感影響之研究較少。是故，本研究將針對兒童的旅遊經驗、地理知識與地方感進行因果研究，並以苗栗為研究地區，以五、六年級兒童共639位為研究對象。以描述性統計法、信度分析、變異數分析、迴歸分析方法來進行資料分析，並輔以質化訪談分析以佐證量化分析之結果。研究結果如下：1、兒童的旅遊經驗對地理知識有正向影響關係。2、兒童的地理知識對地方感沒有影響關係。3、兒童的旅遊經驗對地方感沒有影響關係。4、不同家庭脈絡的兒童的旅遊經驗有顯著差異。5、不同家庭脈絡的兒童的地理知識有顯著差異。6、不同家庭脈絡的兒童的地方感有顯著差異。7、不同社區脈絡的兒童的旅遊經驗有顯著差異。8、不同社區脈絡的兒童的地理知識有顯著差異。9、不同社區脈絡的兒童的地方感沒有顯著差異。最後根據研究結果，提出對於增進兒童旅遊經驗、地理知識與地方感的幾點建議，以供參考。

Travel has the educational and the cultural functions. To review previous researches, few studies investigate children’s actual travel experience and what this influence to kids, or explore the influence of children. Through travel activities, this study focus on one particular aspect of learning, that is children’s geographical knowledge. In addition, the sense of place is another popular issue, which is being discussed in environment psychology and other related fields, and is used to emphasize the interactions between human and places. Travel activities let children be more aware of the environment, and having favorable impression because being familiar to the place enables individuals to become more attached. That is to say, the more attached to the place, the more identification to it.
Through the domestic researches in the literature, a lot of local geographical knowledge can be found, but the influences of children's travel experience to geographical knowledge and the sense of place are less being discussed. Therefore, this study aimed at the analysis of the cause and effects on children’s travel experience, geographical knowledge and the sense of place. Miaoli is the study area of this research, where a total amount of 639 children from Miaoli Elementary School in fifth to sixth grades were being examined. The study adopts descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, one-way ANOVA analysis, regression analysis to analyze data and the results in the following: 1. Children’s travel experience is positively related to their geographical knowledge. 2. Children’s geographical knowledge is not related to the sense of place.
3. Children’s travel experience is not related to the sense of place. 4. The different family context of children's travel experience has the remarkable difference. 5. The different family context of children's geographical knowledge has the remarkable difference. 6. The different family context of children's sense of place has the remarkable difference. 7. The different community context of children's travel experience has the remarkable difference. 8. The different community context of children's geographical knowledge has the remarkable difference. 9. The different community context of children's sense of place does not have the remarkable difference. Finally, according to the findings, the suggestions concerning in the enhancement of children’s travel experience, geographical knowledge and the sense of place can be proposed.
