LCD TV是現代家庭娛樂視聽的中心，更逐步整合各種新興功能，讓消費者獲得更方便、更高級的視聽享受。「電視多媒體晶片」是LCD TV內一個非常重要的關鍵零組件，為LCD TV的心臟與處理核心，關係著整個LCD TV的各項應用功能的實現。國際多家IC設計廠商在這個領域投注了相當大的研發與人力資源，卻面臨鮮少得到對等獲利的窘境。
本研究以「資源依賴理論」為核心，分析「電視多媒體晶片」的「資源依賴性高低」，發覺其面臨難以獲利窘境的原因，同時以「競爭相依」與「共生相依」以及「處理資源依賴要項」這三大議題研究適當的策略思維，探討可以獲得突破的契機。最後再以個案公司TV產品線的實例進行策略探討與比較，提出更進一步的建議。
本研究結論提出針對現階段「電視多媒體晶片」產業以及適合個案公司的建議策略方向，特別在第三團體連結、加強組織聲譽、共生夥伴關係與獲取生存所需資源幾方面，應可以有不錯的作為。而對比於個案公司實際的操作作為，可以發現「資源依賴理論」核心的內外組織策略，正是個案公司長期專注「工程」情況下，最需跳脫與突破的思維。不過，「資源依賴理論」仍提醒了「獲取生存所需資源」的重要性，必須有堅實的基礎實力，才有資格探討其他組織策略思維，否則本末倒置只會讓公司喪失競爭力而被迫退出市場。各個產業的許多「關鍵零組件」也都面臨著類似的紅海競爭而難以有對等獲利的窘境，「資源依賴理論」的策略思維有機會成為突破困境的重要策略方針，值得業界公司參考。
