台灣自輸入東南亞移工以來，家務移工的人數歷年維持穩定成長，台灣家庭對其需求與仰賴顯而易見。作為情感的主體，她們的勞動，不僅僅只是「照顧」與「家務工作」而已，它甚至牽動家庭關係的微妙變化。勞僱雙方都在一種勞僱階序與擬親關係裡不斷地磨合，持續尋找動態的平衡。這種複雜多變的家庭互動，描繪了當代台灣漢人家庭變遷的圖貌。本研究以僱主兼研究者的身分，進行反思性民族誌書寫，而這樣的反思性民族誌，不僅檢視了政策制度對勞僱互動的影響，更驗證了研究者與報導人、田野、書寫文本之間交互主體，彼此相互生成的關係，為人類學在田野工作與民族誌書寫擴展更多的可能。
