The number of college students in Taiwan has increased swiftly since the education reform, and the career choices by college graduates are popular research objects in the recent years. This paper utilizes the graduates survey data from National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) to review again the career choices and further discuss the study choices made by NTHU college graduates. The brief result is listed as below:

    1. Career choice after graduation (Work v.s. Post-graduation education):
    (1) Students from the college COTM and CHS are more likely to take further education. (2) Male students are more likely to get further education. (3) Students with better academic performance tend to take further education. (4) Students with double-majors/minors during college tend to go to work first after graduation. (5) Students doing longer part-time jobs during college are more likely to receive further education. (6) Students in a middle-high income family are more likely to receive further education. (7) Students whose fathers have a higher education level tend to take further education. (8) Students with a higher job-related satisfaction level are more likely to take further education.

    2. Further study choices after graduation:

    (a) The highest degree you are willing to pursue (Master's degree v.s. PhD degree):
    (1) Students from the colleges at NTHU except for COTM and CHS are more likely to pursue a PhD degree. (2) Male students are more likely to pursue a PhD degree. (3) Better academic performance has a positive effect for students to pursue a PhD degree. (4) Students whose fathers have a higher education level tend to pursue a PhD degree. (5) In overall, internal motivation has a positive effect on students' willingness to pursue a PhD degree. On the contrary, external motivation does not.

    (b) The similarity between your college major and your future study domain:
    (1) Students from EECS, ENGI, NUCL, and SCI tend to study similar domains. (2) Students with higher class ranking during college are more likely to study similar domains. (3) Students with double-majors/minors are more likely to choose diiferent domains after graduation. (4) Internal motivation and passive learning attitude have a positive effect on the similarity of students' study domain decision. (5) External expectation and job promotion consideration have a positive effect on the similarity of students' study domain decision. (6) Students are more likely to study similar domains with a higher level of job-related satisfaction.

    (c) The location where you will choose to study (domestic school v.s. foreign school):
    (1) COTM and CHS students at NTHU are more willing to study abroad after graduation. (2) Students with better academic performance tend to study abroad. (3) Higher family income level and mothers' education level increase the probability of students' overseas study after graduation. (5) Students whose fathers are a top manager are more likely to study abroad. (6) Exteranl expectation and job postponement consideration lower the probabilty of students' overseas study after graduation. On the other hand, students are more likely to study abroad if they would like to pursue a higher degree from a prestigious school. (7) Students with a foreign exchange experience during college are more likely to study abroad.
