FON社群帶來的「公眾分享網路」的概念,在它成為全世界最大的無線網路社群之際也得到可行性的驗證。然而其未經整體規劃,自由度極高的社群形成方式,卻也帶來了頻寬浪費的問題。另一方面,在網路上觀賞影片已成為現代人娛樂的項目之一,因此本論文透過有效地利用公眾分享網路,例如FON,分享出來的頻寬,提出了一個具有延展性,穩固且高度可靠的影音串流傳輸系統,稱為FONZ。透過「頻寬放大」的理論與方法,串流提供者只需要利用少量的頻寬來傳輸影音串流,但卻可以讓眾多使用者同時透過系統觀賞影片。另外,因為FONZ系統採用HTTP協定來傳輸影音串流,因此它幾乎可以穿過目前正在運作的絕大部份防火牆。
我們也針對FONZ系統實作了一個可運作的原型,將所提出的演算法利用一個商業化的FON平台來實現,以證明整個理論的可行性。在這個原型中,我們會建構一個影音傳輸系統,使用者可以透過這個以FON為基礎的樹狀平台,從串流提供者處取得影音串流。
With the FON community has become the largest WiFi community in the world, the idea “Public-shared Network” it brought has been proved to be practicable. However, its highly-free organization approach without entire planning has caused the problem of “bandwidth wasting”. In addition, for modern people, watching video programs on the Internet has become one of entertainments. Therefore, this thesis proposes a scalable, robust, and high availability streaming delivering system, FONZ, by efficiently using the sharable bandwidth of public-shared network, like FON network. By the proposed “Bandwidth Expansion” concept and approach, the streaming source spends only a small amount of bandwidth to deliver the streamings, but the system is capable to serve a large number of clients to receive the video streaming simultaneously. Moreover, since the FONZ uses HTTP protocol to deliver the streaming, it has more chance to pass through most of the working firewalls.
A workable prototype of the proposed FONZ system is also implemented to illustrate the feasibility of the whole concept. The proposed algorithm is embedded into the commercial FON platform. Based on this prototype system, a video streaming delivering system is constructed so that clients are able to receive the streaming delivered from the streaming source via the organized FON-based tree platform.
