Meaningful work is widely acknowledged as a crucial aspect of a fulfilling life. While the relationship between individuals and society contributes to the experience of meaningful work, there is limited research on how meaningful work is formed within organizational contexts. Given that social entrepreneurship involves creating positive social impact through innovative solutions, this study aims to establish a link between social entrepreneurial behaviors and the sense of meaningfulness in work. Through a grounded theory approach, we analyze qualitative data from 22 social entrepreneurs to explore how they shape and engage in meaningful work through their entrepreneurial behaviors, as well as how their entrepreneurial journey interacts with and confronts real-world challenges. This study presents an integrative framework that illustrates the developmental patterns of meaningful work among social entrepreneurs, providing valuable insights for organizations seeking to achieve organizational sustainability.
