Objective: To explore trunk inclination angles, gait, balance abilities, and plantar pressure in postpartum women. Methods: This study randomly recruited 20 postpartum women and 20 healthy non-pregnant women as the control group. The Zebris plantar pressure plate was used to collect gait, balance, and plantar pressure parameters, while the Balance Gear balance assessment sensor measured trunk inclination angles. The experimental procedure included static standing tests with eyes open and closed, as well as gait tests. All data were subsequently imported into a computer for statistical analysis. Results: Postpartum women demonstrated significantly lower gait speed compared to non-pregnant women, with no significant differences observed in other gait parameters such as step length, stride length, and step width. Postpartum women also had significantly smaller COP (Center of Pressure) areas with eyes open compared to non- pregnant women, while no significant differences were noted between the two groups with eyes closed. The COP velocity was significantly lower in postpartum women under both eyes-open and eyes-closed conditions. Additionally, postpartum women exhibited an abnormal distribution of plantar pressure, characterized by significantly higher midfoot pressure and significantly lower forefoot pressure compared to non-pregnant women, while rearfoot pressure did not differ between the two groups. Lastly, trunk inclination angles were significantly greater in postpartum women than in the non-pregnant group. Conclusion: This study demonstrates that postpartum women differ significantly from healthy non-pregnant women in specific parameters , which may indicate underlying musculoskeletal issues. Therefore, appropriate rehabilitation training is recommended for postpartum women between eight weeks and six months postpartum.
