Lepidoziaceae contains 754 species belonging to 7 subfamilies and 30 genera in the world. In Taiwan, 4 subfamilies, 7 genera and 41 species have been recorded. Among Lepidoziaceae in Taiwan, three large genera, Bazzania, Lepidozia s. l., Kurzia, are main components of this family. Although these three genera lack research information, the author has been carring out the taxonomic studies of Lepidozia s. l. and Kurzia study only due to many species being in Bazzania and no enough time for this genus. This thesis provided descriptions, photos of light microscope (LM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) and illustrations of 6 genera and 16 species for 398 specimens. Two different DNA markers: ITS1-ITS2 of nuclear gene and trnL-trnF of chloroplast gene are selected for reconstruction of phylogeny. Based on the morphology and phylogenetic tree results, this study confirms species that belong to the genera Lepidozia s. l. and Kurzia. A total of 4 genera and 14 species have been in this study. The recorded species of Telaranea in Taiwan actually belong to Neolepidozia and Tricholepidozia respectively. Hence, by following the treatment of Cooper et al. (2011, 2012, 2013) and Cooper (2013), Lepidozia s. l. has been divided into three genera, Lepidozia s. s., Neolepidozia, Tricholepidozia. The recently recorded species of Kurzia abietinella and Kurzia borneensis are reconfirmed. Hopefully, this study will be useful for further studies in the future.
