This study investigates the use of a semiconductor teaching module to improve learning effectiveness. Taiwan’s leading role in the global semiconductor industry highlights the need to promote semiconductor knowledge and talent cultivation. However, current educational resources often target learners with strong technical backgrounds, making it difficult for beginners to access foundational content.
To address this, the study developed an interactive module based on game-based learning theory and multimedia learning theory, incorporating 3D animations and virtual reality to enhance engagement. High school students in Taichung were divided into an experimental group using the module and a control group using traditional teaching methods.
A paired sample t-test was conducted to analyze the improvement scores in the achievement test. Results showed that the experimental group’s t test t-value was -10.7 (p < .001), reaching statistical significance, indicating significant improvement in the experimental group . Furthermore, an ANCOVA revealed a significant difference in post-test scores between the groups (F = 6.443, p = .014 < .05), suggesting that different learning methods have a significant impact on learning outcomes. The overall system satisfaction score averaged 3.89 (SD = 0.57), reflecting a generally positive attitude toward the module.
The study recommends introducing such tools at the basic education level to nurture future talent for the growing semiconductor industry.
