在高度競爭的世界中,掌握「創新知識與核心能力」是帶動產業不斷進步的火車頭,IC半導體產業不斷的發展,更為我們的日常生活帶來了革命性的改變。
台灣也在半導體市場上找到機會,透過全球國際半導體產業專業分工,擁有Know-How在IC設計、晶圓代工、封裝及測試供製造供應鏈中,抓住發展脈動,迅速與世界接軌,打下不可動搖的堅實基礎,在全球市場扮演十分重要的地位。
但如今在中國紅色供應鏈的興起,中美貿易戰下,動搖了全球經濟,過去成功的枷鎖似乎也成為負擔成本,全球許多產業及公司也受到衝擊,改變了供應鏈,全球半導體公司面臨不同以往的挑戰及困境。我們常看到許多全球一流的公司,原本擁有堅強的核心競爭力,但隨著經濟景氣增長放緩,發展策略失敗,創新能力不足未能跟上改變,被競爭者追上,黯然下台,如相機巨人柯達(Kodak),手機大廠摩托羅拉(Motorola),手機強者諾基亞(Nokia),美國無線晶片龍頭博通(Broadcom)公司。
本研究的目的,以一個案來探討一家半導體通訊IC公司,歷經三十多年不同通訊世代的更迭,如何面對挑戰,在新5G通訊時代的來臨時,如何利用創新的方法,重新轉型,開發新產品,在各個市場上取得勝利,重返增長路線,脫穎而出再創高峰。
本研究採用個案研究方法,分別透過五力分析、SWOT和破壞性分析來對個案公司進行深入研究,探討其在產業進入成熟期,發展緩慢下,面臨的產業趨勢改變與困境危機中的挑戰來進行分析,如何在短時間內,運用核心競爭力來進行改革,提供在產品規劃,營運模式以及應用參考平台為依據,在經營策略上產品創新,節省成本,提高利潤,找到第二成長曲線,期望透過此研究提供相關產業策略發展的參考。

In a highly competitive world, companies will keep moving forward with good profit and keep driving industry upgrade if they know how to building on its solid foundation, brand strength and core competitiveness to create NEW value and leading position in Semiconductor industry. It has been bringing revolutionary technologies and ramping new services and products to benefit our daily lives.
The global economy has been shaken during Trade War challenges. On supply chain manufacturing in the global market, has been suffering from significant risks associated with China’s RED supply chain expanding. The yoke of success in the past seems to have become a burden. Many industries and companies around the world have also been impacted and faced dilemmas. Global semiconductor companies also are facing challenges how to make consistent business growth and steering continuous market development thereby creating higher value for the shareholders.
We often see a lot of world-class good companies that originally had strong core competence, but as the economic showed slow down, development strategies failed, and their lack of innovation capacity and afraid to changes. eventually, competitors beat them up strongly and caused them stepped down. Such as the case of Kodak, the camera giant; Motorola, a mobile phone maker; Nokia; a mobile phone maker; Broadcom, a USA wireless chip leader.
The purpose of this study is to explore a Mobile Fabless IC company how to overcome uncertainties which were caused by a lot of different internal or external challenges at the same time. How to use innovative methods to develop new products and ramp into high volume with higher profit to ensure long term keep winning in 5G.
This study uses a case study method. Through deep dive analysis to figure out what is its ability to stand firm on 5G and find the 2nd growth curve. This research will provide a good reference for relevant industrial company.
