本論文創作源自於筆者對家鄉的地方認同感，以及透過環境識覺關注到了基隆住家後的水域－「西定河」，環境受到人為汙染與破壞，進而觸及筆者兒時對環境遭受鄰居惡意破壞的憤憤不平與深刻的知覺印象。尋著這段深刻卻不愉快的兒時記憶，當時筆者便已認知到有居民惡意的傷害河流，但卻只能在家吶喊「不要丟了！」那個半夜「咚！」的丟垃圾進水裡，隔天一早起來看到河內景觀又多了許多居民的生活垃圾，那個丟垃圾的聲響與視覺景象還深刻的烙在腦子裡。因此，筆者欲彌補兒時無能為力付諸行動去保護環境的遺憾，進而開始了本創作的動機與發想，決定以實際行動，踏進河流內撿拾河道周遭的廢棄物並進行創作，以此創作手法，實現自己的藝術價值，也希望人們可以跟我一同關注環境的變化。
筆者藉由第二章學理基礎與相關研究，依照筆者在自身環境背景與創作發想到創作實踐的脈絡，分別從「環境識覺與地方認同」、「視覺意象」、「當代首飾的發展與人體之關係」、「關係美學」、「相關文獻探討」以及「相關藝術家與作品探討」進行分析探討後，體認自身對家鄉環境的破壞而造成對筆者心理的影響，重新認識自己，也關注環境，再透過其他藝術家與學者的分析探討，觀看到許多人也開始關注到自身家園，感到欣慰，透過藝術互相交流創作想法，進而找到自己的創作風格與語彙。在第三章創作理念與表現方式，筆者則是從觀看自身家園環境的破壞，把所見所想分別規劃並企圖轉述在「共存關係系列」、「遐想自然系列」、「多彩視界」三個系列作品中。第四章媒材應用與技法分析，主要是對「塑料」、「黃銅」與「脫蠟鑄造」進行說明。第五章則為創作成果，是為系列發展所有作品的呈現。最後透過第六章結論，檢視自身的創作價值，並進行自我檢討與未來展望。

Abstract

The inspiration for this thesis work can be traced back to the author’s interest in the “Hsiting River” behind my family home in Keelung. As a youth, the local environment was impacted by pollution and other forms of man made damage, and watching this wanton destruction by neighbors had an indelible impact on me. In searching for this memorable if unhappy childhood recollection, it is clear that even at a young age I was aware what was happening to the river, but unable to do anything about it as I heard the sound of garbage being thrown into the river almost every night, a sound and image that to this day remain firmly implanted in my mind. These memories of being helpless in the face of such destructive behavior as a child have served as the inspiration and intellectual starting point for this art work. I took action by first wading into the river, collecting all the garbage from the river bed and surrounding area and kick-starting the creative process. Through this approach I created my own artistic value, while also urging others to pay closer attention to the environment and the changes it is undergoing.
The second chapter looks at the theoretical foundation for my work and related research. Based on my background and creative inspiration, this section addresses a number of issues; “environment perception,” “visual images,” “development of modern jewelry and its relationship to the human body,” “relationship aesthetics,” “discussion of related literature” and “discussion of related artists and their works.” After this analysis, I look more closely at the impact the environmental degradation I experienced in my hometown has had on my approach to art today. This allows me to better understand myself, focus on the environment, the relationship between people and art and offer an analysis of other artists and academics. Indeed, it has become something of a trend for artists to focus on their homes and, through artistic interaction and exchange, develop their own distinctive creative style and language. Chapter three addresses my artistic philosophy and expressive methodology. For example, I have transformed the destruction of the environment in my hometown into three work series titled “Coexistence Series,” “Reverie of Nature Series” and “Multicolored Visual World.” Chapter four analyzes the materials and techniques used, particularly “plastic,” “brass” and “lost wax casting.” Chapter five presents the results of the project and showcases the final works. Chapter six is the conclusion and examines the creative value of the pieces, including a self-examination and review of future prospects.
