本論文的研究重點為日本藝術家森村泰昌(Morimura Yasumasa)的扮裝自拍與台灣藝術家郭慧禪的攝影自拍、周美玲所執導的扮裝電影《豔光四射歌舞團》等研究。研究者將援引酷兒與性別研究等相關理論,說明上述藝術家的作品中透露出幽微的同性情慾暗示,並將藝術家們的作品風格與藝術家創作思維相互比對,歸結出作品的相似之處,最後說明藝術家的身體表演,除了展現藝術家特有的另類美學外,否定了異性戀男性觀者的慾望化觀看並同時引起了恐同的焦慮。這種否定性和威脅性的觀看鬆動了性別二元對立的僵化規則,挑戰了固定的世俗規約。在此同時,藝術家們藉由作品強化自己的性別認同,為自我建構了主體性。而在作品的理論分析之外,研究者並嘗試將自身的跨性別經驗融合進入文脈中,藉由與諸位藝術家作品的對話,為自己的身體實踐找到一個適切的位置。
The purpose of this study is to explore the works of the masquerade photography of Japanese artist Morimura Yasumasa, the self-portrait photography of Taiwanese artist Hui-Shan Kuo, and the masquerade movie, Splendid Float, made by Taiwanese director Zero Chou. First, this study is going to utilize the queer theory, the gender research and some related theories to explain the reveal of dim hint of the homosexuality of the works mentioned above. Second, their works style and their creative thinking will be compared each other. On one hand, the similarities of their works are generalized. Finally, the researcher explains that their body performance not only show the alternative esthetics the three artists possess but also deny the desired gaze from the heterosexual male; anxiety of homophobia is arisen simultaneously. These kinds of modes of the denying and threat loosen the rigid rules of binary gender and also challenge the secular rules. Meanwhile, the artists enforce their own sexual identifications by their works to construct one’s subject for themselves. Besides the theory analysis of the works, the researcher attempts to integrate self-experience of transgender into the context of the research. Through the way of talking with the artists’ works, the researcher’s body practice will be able to be settled in appropriate position
