本研究的目的在於探討聚乙烯醇(polyvinyl alcohol)塗液的分子量與濃度對狹縫式塗佈的影響。以不同濃度的PVA/水溶液作為實驗流體,由實驗結果得知當塗液濃度增加時,所得到的最大塗佈速度變大且可塗佈區域也擴大。直到濃度添加到某一程度時,整個視窗開始縮小,與甘油/水溶液的呈相反趨勢;對照流變數據,發現當PVA增加到某一濃度時會出現gel的特性,此行為則是導致塗佈視窗發生轉折的原因。另一方面,增添少量的FSO於PVA/水溶液及甘油/水溶液中,使其具有相同黏度與表面張力,用以比較黏度及長鏈分子(分子量)的競爭情形,發現到甘油/水溶液因黏度效應而使塗佈視窗變小,PVA/水溶液則是因為擁有長鏈高分子能增加塗佈液珠的穩定性,而此特性已蓋過黏度效應使得塗佈視窗會隨著黏度上升而變大。
