This thesis explores how small businesses in Belize perceive the potential benefits and risks of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into their operations. Through a qualitative study involving semi-structured interviews with small business owners, the research investigates the expected advantages and challenges of AI adoption. Findings reveal that while there is optimism about the efficiency and productivity gains AI could bring, concerns about costs, complexity, and lack of technical expertise prevail. The study emphasizes the need for supportive measures such as financial incentives, training programs, and government policies to facilitate AI adoption. This research contributes to understanding the unique context of Belize's small business sector, offering insights that could guide policymakers and technology providers in fostering a conducive environment for AI integration.
