本研究探討臺灣閩南語近義動詞「削」（siah）與「剾」（khau）的語義特徵及搭配詞，透過語料庫分析及對比華語相關動詞「削」、「刮」、「刨」，以揭示兩者在語義及使用上的差異。研究結果顯示，「削」主要用於去除較硬物體表層，如「削鉛筆」、「削水果皮」，動作具有規律性與精準性，通常使用小型刃具進行表層修整。而「剾」則涉及較廣泛的語義範疇，涵蓋刮除與切削兩類動作，既可刮除物體表層，如「剾魚鱗」、「剾鼎」，也可深入物體內部進行加工處理，如「剾囡仔」。從搭配詞的角度來看，根據文件內容，「削」的常見搭配詞包括「皮」、「甘蔗皮」、「鉛筆」、等，顯示其主要用於表面去除與修整。「剾」則常搭配「皮」、「鱗」、「越瓜籽」等，表現出其在表層刮除與細部清理方面的靈活性與多樣性。
本研究亦針對近義詞語義特徵的教學應用提出建議，認為應透過語義對比、搭配詞學習及情境模擬來幫助學習者區分「削」與「剾」的使用方式。例如，可透過實物操作，讓學習者實際使用不同工具進行「削」與「剾」的動作，體驗其力道與方式上的不同。此外，透過模擬生活對話，如描述「削蘋果皮」或「剾魚鱗」的過程，有助於強化學習者對這兩個動詞在語境中的正確應用。語料填空與觀察報告亦可作為教學評量的一部分，幫助學習者透過實際語境掌握這兩個近義動詞的使用方式。

This study investigates the semantic features and collocations of the near-synonymous verbs “siah” (削) and “khau” (剾) in Taiwanese Southern Min. Through corpus analysis and comparisons with similar Mandarin verbs such as “xiāo” (削), “guā” (刮), and “bào” (刨), this study aims to clarify the differences in meaning and usage between these two verbs. The findings indicate that “siah” is primarily used for removing the outer layer of harder objects, such as in “siah iân-pit” (削鉛筆, sharpening a pencil) and “siah tsuí-kó phuê” (削水果皮, peeling fruit skin). This action is characterized by precision and regularity, typically using small bladed tools for surface trimming. In contrast, “khau” has a broader semantic range, encompassing both scraping and cutting actions. It can be used for removing surface layers, such as in “khau hî-lân” (剾魚鱗, scraping fish scales) and “khau tiánn” (剾鼎, scraping a pot), or for deeper processing of objects, such as in “khau gín-á” (剾囡仔, abort).
From the perspective of collocations, according to the corpus analysis, “siah” frequently co-occurs with words like “skin” (皮), “sugarcane peel” (甘蔗皮), and “pencil” (鉛筆), indicating its primary function in surface removal and refinement. On the other hand, “khau” is commonly collocated with words like “skin” (皮), “scales” (鱗), and “wax gourd seeds” (越瓜籽), demonstrating its flexibility and versatility in surface scraping and detailed cleaning.
This study also proposes teaching applications for the semantic distinctions between these near-synonyms. It suggests that learners should use contrastive analysis, collocation exercises, and situational simulations to better grasp the proper usage of “siah” and “khau.” For instance, hands-on activities can allow learners to use different tools to perform “siah” and “khau” actions, helping them experience variations in force and technique. Additionally, simulated conversations describing the process of “siah phông-kó phuê” (削蘋果皮, peeling an apple) or “khau hî-lân” (剾魚鱗, scraping fish scales) can enhance learners’ ability to use these verbs accurately in context. Teaching assessments, such as cloze tests and observation reports, can further help learners develop a practical understanding of these near-synonymous verbs through real-life contexts.
