Thailand created “Thailand 4.0” economic model that driven by innovation in order to develop a country’s economic growth. To create innovation in a country, mainly actors such as government, industry and academic are necessary to collaborate with each other in national innovation system or NIS. As the university in academic sector plays important role in being the source of new knowledge and technology in NIS, previous studies on NIS therefore suggested that the university should have collaboration with other actors in NIS especially with industry where is the locus of innovation production. Also, the university should change its role being more industrial roles such as entrepreneur universities, entrepreneurial education, and research network in order to help increase its collaboration with industry. This thesis aims to examine how these collaboration and new roles are practiced in Thailand’s universities. Chulalongkorn university (CU)’s Innovation hub is a case study since it is representative for a university (Chulalongkorn University) for innovation creation center. The finding of this thesis found that CU Innovation Hub has collaboration with actors; the university itself (CU), government agencies and has the strong collaboration with industries that mainly collaborate with the university’s alumni network through doing innovation activities such as innovation academy that most of innovation academics emphasizing on entrepreneurship education, incubation and acceleration and outreach activities so that educates students specifically with entrepreneurship skills.
