    The privatization of EDF has been the subject of many criticisms regarding its efficiency and its impact on the company. This study investigates the challenges stemming from the privatization and how it was conducted by the government, focusing on the evolution of managerial techniques and internal organization while discussing the characteristics of the nuclear sector and the difficulty associated with managing its assets. By reviewing literature and analyzing different issues around management, the strong identity of EDF, the restructuring of the company and the change of competitive environment, this research explores how the company tried to implement new managerial techniques in this new landscape.
    Key aspects include examining documented issues regarding management problems in the nuclear sector, the impact of the restructuring of the company on employees’ work, the clash between EDF long-lasting values and purpose and the expected outcome of privatization regarding managerial techniques and productivity of the employees. The
    research also assesses the significance of public companies in the French economic and social ecosystem in order to understand choices made during privatization. This study is entirely based on qualitative research from various sources and an in-depth interview.
    This study aims to provide valuable insights for the conduct of liberal measures in the complex and highly protected nuclear sector in France.
