本研究針對南投縣日月潭東邊水社大山人工步道進行苔蘚植物調查。研究期間自2007年7月至2008年10月，每兩個月至少採集一次標本，共累積了12次的田野資料。本區登山步道位於海拔780-1100公尺間，以步道兩側各2公尺、高度2.5公尺為採樣範圍。
初步鑑定共得苔類15科23屬34種、蘚類12科15屬20種及角蘚類1科1屬1種。文中除記述各物種外型特徵、細胞型態外，並附圖說明與製作檢索表。此結果可供作台灣苔蘚植物研究之基本資料, 亦可供日月潭國家風景區管理處建立苔蘚植物資源及生態步道解說之用。
Inventory of the bryophyte along the trail to Shueisheda Mountain, east of the Sun Moon Lake, Nantou County, from July 2007 to October 2008, has been carried out. Field observation and sample collection have been carried out every two months. Totally, twelve filed trips have been done. The focused trails of this area are about 780-1100 meters in elevation. The bryophyte within the area of two meters from the trail on both sides, and organisms on substrate below 2.5 meter high were observed and collected.
The preliminary results include 15 families, 23 genera, and 34 species of mosses, 12 families, 15 genera, and 20 species of liverworts , and 1 family, 1 genera, and 1species of hornwort.
In this study, morphology and cell types of all collected bryophytes are described, and keys, pictures and/or illustrations are also provided. These results may provide as basic materials for further studies on Taiwanese bryophyte and for further application by the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration.
