摘要
近年來,由於中國大陸經濟的崛起造成全球產業生態的巨大改變,台灣面對這波的衝擊自然也無法自外於全球經濟角色分工的轉變,台灣的許多產業在過去幾十年來所累積的各項競爭優勢正快速流失、產業也快速的外移。光通訊光收發模組產業在國內發展的時間不長,在技術及成本上的優勢本來就不多,在光收發模組產品同質性高、不易形成差異競爭的條件下,必需找出新的競爭利基以避免這項產業最後走向單純的價格競爭。本研究以台灣光通訊光收發模組產業為範圍,以查爾斯.范恩的脈動速度分析模式為架構,研究如何透過對產業及企業的脈動速度及供應鏈的分析,進而提升企業的競爭能力。
本研究的主要目的在於探討台灣光收發模組產業的供應鏈結構及產業的脈動速度,了解整個產業所處的環境、現況及發展。並依據調查及分析的結果,從脈動速度來完成個案公司的供應鏈分析。本論文首先透過文獻分析法,經由光收發模組產業的相關網站及組織發行之資料、期刊,加以蒐集、整理以分析產業的現況及發展。並對國內光收發模組企業進行深度的訪談,以了解產業的脈動速度及造成其變動的影響原因。最後,再依據調查、訪談及分析的結果來進行個案公司的供應鏈分析,並歸納出結論。
供應鏈的設計除了考量供應鏈中原料與存貨的物流管理問題外,應該從脈動速度的角度,包括產品、製程及供應鏈的思維來設計產品,特別是脈動速度在供應鏈分析的應用及考量。因此,面對光收發模組產業在產品、組織及製程上脈動的加速,產品在設計時就應充份考量供應鏈的設計,以避免類似內建Intel威脅的產生,透過個案研究對供應鏈分析的自製及外購決策、契約決策及資源決策來建構企業優勢競爭的模式,提供相關或有興趣之業界及學術界作為參考。
Abstract
The booming economy of Mainland China in recent years has been leading enormous change to global economy. As one of the closest neighbors, Taiwan is almost inevitable excluding itself from the rapid change in the role-playing on the world economic stage when facing these tough impacts coming from Mainland China. Over the decade, quite a large number of Taiwanese industries have moved forward to Mainland China and some other ambient countries, many of business competitive advantages which were accumulated for decades with Taiwanese firms are losing drastically during the period. Since the development and production of optical transceiver industry do not possess long enough history in Taiwan, there are actually few sufficient advantages performing in the aspects of cost and technology internationally, moreover, the shortage of product differentiation has been lessening the competitive advantage of local industries as well. In order to keep away from the severe game of price competition in optical transceiver business, we are urged to discover an amount of competitive niches for solving existing and coming difficulties of competence here in Taiwan. Based on the theory and infrastructure of clockspeed analysis by Dr. Charles H. Fine, the optical transceiver manufactures of Taiwan is being chosen as the scope of the study where a new model for improving the industrial competitiveness to relevant enterprises in Taiwan is been proposed and illustrated.
The main purpose of the study is to probe into the supply chain and clockspeed of Taiwan’s optical transceiver industry, realizing the status quo and future possibilities to the industry in detail primarily. And following by using the clockspeed theory, we analyzed the dynamic supply chain of a firm to create the framework of case study. Starting the study by means of documentation analysis, while most of which were being found on the web sites or being published in journals or public information etc. To deepen the profile of research outcome, a series of practical business interviews have been performed for some of the specified enterprises within the industry. Finally, to sum up the results of investigation, interview and analysis for the case study, the final conclusions come into being.
In addition to considering the management of raw material and goods inventory on supply chain design, taking the view of clockspeed analysis is essential as well for more completely conducting products design, where the production process with the sense of supply chain is considered. To avoid from the threat such as Intel inside occurred, the designs for supply chain need to be taken into account during the phases of product design and product development. By going through the case study on supply chain analysis with business strategies of make or buy, contracting and resource acquisition, the model for enhancing competitive advantages is been built up and it might be provided as a reference for the purpose of further studies.
