本部論文所要嘗試回答的兩個問題為：一、中國沿海城市如何吸納外地移工？二、何項因素影響中國外地移工的遷移行動？而在此，我由中國藍印戶籍制度切入，並進一步回答此二道問題。中國藍印戶籍制度，意指外地人口可經由投資、購房與技術管道，獲得城市戶籍。因此，在本部論文，我將由三個部分漸次分析：（1）分析中國藍印戶籍制度的成因。（2）我以上海、深圳與昆山為分析案例，描繪中國城市吸納體制的型態。（3）著重個人層次，說明中國城市吸納體制如何影響中國外地移工的遷移行動。在第一個部份裡，我個別探討中國戶籍制度、住房政策，並論證藍印戶籍制度拌雜於國家與市場力量之下，所體現出公民權樣貌。而另一方面，從藍印戶籍制度出現的意義上看來，則說明中國政府開始正式化販售城市戶口的行為。其次，從上海、深圳與昆山藍印戶籍制度的變遷過程裡，我提出封閉型、緊縮型城市吸納體制的概念。與此同時，最終三地的演變樣貌與吸納人數比例，更指出中國政府面對大批外來人口時，將採取一種有限管理手法，既排除又吸納的雙面作用，才是藍印戶籍制度的根本樣貌。而最後，我藉由五位不同身份狀態的移工，說明中國藍印戶籍制度對個人遷移行動，所形成的侷限與機會。
