當2008年中國同步遭遇全球經濟衰退的問題，許多原本在沿海地區設廠投資的台商更因為經營環境的驟變，決定前往中西部內陸省份設廠投資。本研究以社會鑲嵌的觀點來探討台商前進內陸省份的投資動態，審視台商遷移內陸投資過程中，社會關係對台商決策的影響，並敘述設廠後遭遇的情況，以文化面、制度面與社會鑲嵌此三種層面探索其動態決策過程與結果。
　　結果發現台商為了克服投資初期的不確定性與過高的投資成本，因此必須藉助個人在既有的社會網絡基礎下做出有限的考量與選擇，同時地方官員對台商經營依然發揮重要影響力，台商為了要繼續順利在中國生存，有以雇用授權的方式建立彼此信任關係，以降低企業經營成本與減少不確定性的一種授權關係，或者逐漸與當地人建立起屬於自己的社會關係，以至於呈現出社會關係發展不同的面貌。
　　然而關係的背後同時包含文化層面的親近性與當地制度與權力結構特性所交織而成的「關係」，也成就不同的行動者之間彼此互動、期待、規範與權威關係，最後造成個別不同且分殊的投資路徑與結果，產生社會關係「差異再鑲嵌」的樣貌，這同時也解釋了為什麼出現下一個台商「珠江三角洲」或「長江三角洲」機會不大的原因。

　　Since 2008, because of the global financial crisis and the transformation of Chinese regulatory regime on industrial and environmental policies, some of Taiwanese investors (Taishang) have started to move their factories from Chinese coastal to inland areas.
　　Former studies on Taiwanese investors always focus on business management thinking, but unable to explain how Taishang decided to invested in inland province. Therefore, in the paper, I use a garment enterprise located in the Yangtze Delta region as a case to examine how they rely on social relations to overcome the problems of policy uncertainty and the lack of institutional transparency in China, the role of local officials in particular.
　　In this study, I highlight the role of social relations in illustrating the diversity of Taishang migration decision. Moreover, the concept of “diversified re-embeddedness” in social relations can help us understand why it is impossible for Taishang to have another enclave economy in Chinese inland areas, just as they did in the Pearl River and Yangtze River Delta.
