As global issues continue to intensify and the public's standards for companies has raised, so does the social responsibility of companies. Performance in executing CSR have also became a key consideration in evaluating the competitiveness of enterprises. Enterprises need a way to make their CSR continuously improving, and social innovation may be one of their solutions. Through case studies, we explored whether social innovation is a better way to execute CSR hence identified the factors that will have a major impact in the process of applying social innovation in CSR execution, exploring how companies apply social innovation and what benefits and difficulties it can bring to the companies. It has contributed to academics by connecting these two areas that are rarely discussed together. It also validates MacGregor and Fontrodona’s (2008) hypothesis that there is a virtuous circle between innovation and CSR and extends their CSR-innovation model.
