The purpose of this study was to (1) examine the effects of parent participation in home program intervention for promoting parent-child interaction for children with motor developmental delays, and (2) understand the influences of parent participation amounts on the parent-child interaction and parental self-efficacy. This study is a quasi-experimental single-blind design. Participants were 2-6 years old children and their families. Twenty-three Parent-child dyads were randomly assigned to the experimental group or the control group. The experimental group (n =13) received home program training according to children’s individualized functional goals which developed by the parents and the therapists together. The control group (n =10) received regular home program consultation. Outcome measures included ”Parent-Child Interaction Questionnaire” and “Parental Self-Efficacy Questionnaire” which developed by the researcher. The data were analyzed with relevant statistics methods. The results were found as described below.
    1. There was no significant difference among the participation amount of two groups. There was a significant correlation between the participation amounts and parent-child interaction, while there was no significant relationship between the participation amount and parental self-efficacy. There was significant difference among the goal achieving rate after parent participated in the home program of children with motor developmental delays.
    2. There were no significant differences between two groups in parent-child interaction after participating in the home program.
    3. Changes in parental self-efficacy favored the parents who participated in the home program of children with motor developmental delays.
