本研究旨在探討竹南鎮國小六年級學生的環境知識及環境態度之現況，並分析不同背景變項的學生之環境知識與環境態度的差異。為達成研究目的，本研究以「問卷調查法」為主，訪談為輔，採用立意取樣的方式，選取苗栗縣竹南鎮八所學校之六年級學生，總計十個班之學生為施測樣本，共得有效樣本246人。並以描述性統計、獨立樣本 t 考驗、皮爾遜積差相關、變異數分析等統計方法，進行統計分析。
　　研究結果顯示竹南鎮國小六年級的學生都能關心週遭的生活環境，也敏於覺知環境的改變，在環境知識及態度上皆有正向表現，但在環境知識「生態學基本概念」層面，仍需再加強。學生之環境知識，不會因「性別」、「環保活動經驗」、「父母親教育程度」、「就讀學校之規模」等背景變項之不同而有差異。學生之環境態度除了會因「環保活動經驗」、「就讀學校之規模」不同而有所差異外，餘皆無顯著差異。學生環境知識與環境態度間有顯著正相關。
　　建議環境教育的實施，應從教師和學校方面積極著手。結合社區資源及善用大眾傳播媒體，整合社會、學校和家庭三方面的環境教育，以發揮最大的力量。各校在環境教育上的推展，如何使其發揮更大的功效，有待進一步的研究。

The main purpose of this study is to explore the current status of the environmental knowledge and environmental attitude for the sixth grades in elementary school of Zhunan Township . It analyzes the differences on students’ environmental knowledge and environmental attitude between different background variables. To achieve this goal, this study uses the “Questionnaire Survey” method in major and interview in minor. Using purposive sampling approach selected sixth grade students from eight schools of Zhunan Township in Miaoli County , a total of ten classes of students applied to the measured sample of 246 effective samples. This study processes statistical analysis with descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, Pearson’s product-moment correlation and analysis of variance.
The results show that Sixth grade students of Zhunan Township are concerned with the living environment, students are sensitive enough to be aware of the environmental changes. The knowledge and attitudes on the environment are positive performance. However, knowledge of the environment “the basic concept of ecology” levels still further be strengthened. Students’ knowledge of the envrionment shows no differences based on gender, experience in environmental activities, education level of the parents, and the size of school. There are no significant differiences in terms of the environmental attitude, except that it shows significant differences based on the size of schools and experience in environmental activities. The environmental knowledge and attitude show significant correlations.
The study recommends that the implementation of environmental education should begin with the schools and the teachers. It makes good use of the mass media, community resources and integrates the three aspects of the environmental educations with the society, the schools and the families to maximize the strength of the education. It depends on the further study and how it makes good use of schools’environmental education be promoted.
