在我們有限元素模擬中,藉由設計垂直共振腔面射型雷射半導體表面缺陷結構,來誘發各式各樣的垂直放射之橫向模態,包含: 高階whispering gallery模態、whispering gallery-like模態、混沌模態與單向雷射型態,這些模態同時在實驗上被驗證*。
而且,我們調變whispering gallery模態(穩態週期軌道)與動態局部模態(非穩態週期軌道)間的相位來控制雷射特性。

We present the idea to design the surface defect structure of the VCSEL to induce various vertical emission transverse modes, including high-order whispering gallery modes, whispering gallery-like modes, chaotic modes and unidirectional emitting patterns in simulations, as well as in experiment*.
Moreover, modulating the phase difference of the superposition of whispering gallery and dynamical localized modes, which correspond to the stable and unstable periodic orbits, respectively, are reported to control lasing characteristics.
