The research explored the role of orthographic and phonological processing in Chinese character identification by children. In experiment 1, PWDT (picture word decision task) were used to find the priming effects during the manipulation character structure and phonome in Chinese. There were inhibited priming effects when character structure were similar and homophonic facilitated priming effects. When the word recognition accuracy is low, the accuracy and fluency with the relevance. Word recognition accuracy and fluency-related indicators are different.
Experiment 2 and Experiment 3 were to explored the poor accuracy of word recognition or word recognition fluency poor students in PWDT performance.
