本文研究右先方遺址牛稠子文化層出土陶容器破片，探討其風格與製作技術。透過觀察各項特徵屬性，將陶片質地、技法與風格利用操作鍊方法加以整合與分類，以理解較完整的陶器樣貌。
　　研究成果說明，在質地上以夾砂為主，但有不少的泥質陶。特別的製作技術見有表面整平磨光、繩紋拍拍墊、施抹塗料與穿孔等。在風格上，以各式敞口罐為主，亦見有數量不少的缽盆形器，許多陶器帶有圈足。陶容器絕大部分為素面，僅見少量的繩印紋、劃紋。
　　由研究成果發現該文化層的陶器僅與部分牛稠子文化遺址有關，如高雄鳳鼻頭遺址，李德仁1992年試掘報告呈現的牛稠子遺址。與上述兩個遺址相似的陶器風格並非典型的大坌坑文化或牛稠子文化。另一方面，本次抽樣所見少數形態特殊的陶器風格或技術，相似於台北芝山岩文化、大湖文化與福建閩江下游同時期遺址。
　　這說明著右先方遺址所展現的製陶風格，除了基於該地區普遍的製陶技術外，亦發展與傳統有差異的製陶技術，形塑出獨樹一幟屬於自己的陶器。以地區陶器發展的角度而言，該遺址對器形、部位形態與素面風格的發展確實在台南地區繼續延續著，而相關技術亦影響鄰近各地製陶工藝的發展。
