本研究旨在探討自尊、社會支持、親子關係對失親兒童生活適應及創傷後成長之影響。藉由檢視失親兒童自尊、社會支持、親子關係、生活適應與創傷後成長的現況；瞭解失親兒童自尊、社會支持、親子關係、生活適應與創傷後成長的差異；分析失親兒童的自尊、社會支持、親子關係、生活適應與創傷後成長是否相關；進一步做生活適應與創傷後成長之預測。
本研究以失親兒童為樣本，進行問卷調查，共取得159位自願參與研究之失親兒童父母及學童為有效樣本。研究參與者之失親兒童父母親填寫的「失親後兒童適應-父母評定量表」，及失親兒童填寫的「自尊量表」、「兒童社會支持量表」與「兒童生活適應量表」為工具蒐集資料，所得資料以平均數、標準差、t考驗、單因子變異數分析、皮爾森積差相關、逐步多元迴歸分析等統計方法加以分析處理。
研究結果摘要如下：
一、失親兒童之自尊、社會支持、親子關係、生活適應與創傷後成長的現況均在中等水準之上。
二、不同性別的失親兒童在自尊、社會支持、親子關係、生活適應與創傷後成長上並無顯著差異。
三、失親兒童在失親後1到2年之間的適應較差。
四、除自尊與親子關係外，失親兒童的自尊、社會支持、親子關係與生活適應兩兩具有顯著正相關。相關係數介於.12至.69間。
五、自尊、社會支持、親子關係皆與創傷後成長皆達到顯著正相關，相關係數介於.17
至.49間。
六、自尊對生活適應具有最佳的解釋、預測力，其次為社會支持；親子關係中「給孩子貼心關懷」對創傷後成長具有最佳的解釋、預測力，其次為父母支持。

依據上述研究結果，對家長、學校老師與未來研究提供各項建議以供參考。

The study is to discuss the impact among the self-esteem, social support and parent-child relationship to the bereaved children’s life adjustment and their posttraumatic growth. In order to predict the bereaved children’s life adjustment and posttraumatic growth, three steps were taken. First, to observe the situation of the bereaved children’s self-esteem, social support, parent-child relationship, life adjustment and posttraumatic growth. Second, to understand the different background variables of the bereaved children’s self-esteem, social support, parent-child relationship, life adjustment and posttraumatic growth. Third, to analyze the correlation among the bereaved children’s self-esteem, social support, parent-child relationship, life adjustment and posttraumatic growth.
The questionaire was used in the study to investigate one hundred and fifty-nine volunteered bereaved children from elementary school as valid samples. The measurements applied in this study include Bereaved Children Adjustment-Parent Inventory, Self-Esteem Inventory, Social Support Inventory,and Bereaved Children Adjustment Inventory. The obtained data was analyzed by Mean,Standard Deviation, t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Analysis, and Multiple Regressive Analysis. The results of the study included:
1.The bereaved children’s self-esteem, social support, parent-child relationship, adjustment, and posttraumatic growth are above the medium standard level.
2.There is no obvious difference on both sexes’ self-esteem, social support, parent-child relationship, adjustment, and posttraumatic growth.
3. Bereaved children have worse adjustment within one to two years after losing his/ her father or mother.
4.Besides self-esteem and parent-child relationship, bereaved children’s self-esteem, social support and parent-child relationship are positive correlated with their life adjustment. The correlation coefficient is from 0.12 to 0.69.
5.Self-esteem, social support and parent-child relationship are positive correlated with their posttraumatic growth. The correlation coefficient is from 0.17 to 0.49.
6. Self-esteem, and then social support are the most valid predictors to the bereaved children’s life adjustment. “Intimate care to child” from parent-child relationship, and then parent’s support are the most valid predictors to the bereaved children’s posttraumatic growth.
