In the history of Taiwan's economic development, small and medium-sized enterprises in traditional industries have always played a decisive role. Traditional industrial small and medium-sized enterprises usually exist in the form of family operations or small-scale factories. Their organizational structures are relatively simple. Their capital scale are small, but they are highly flexible and adaptable. These enterprises provide a large number of high-quality products for domestic and foreign markets and have long been the cornerstone of Taiwan's economy. However, they face increasing challenges in overseas market competition with Southeast Asian countries and Chinese counterparts, resulting in the loss of market share and cost competitiveness. This study aims to explore how small and medium-sized enterprises in traditional industries find key configurations that break through the limitations of the external environment and ultimately achieve entrepreneurial orientation and organizational performance.
This study selected Company T in Taiwan's metal mold manufacturing industry as the research object. This study aims to explore the use of entrepreneurial networks and resource bricolage as survival strategies by small and medium-sized enterprises in traditional industries in Taiwan. First, this article will review the development history and main challenges currently faced by small and medium-sized enterprises in Taiwan's traditional industries. Next, through literature review and case analysis, the concepts and applications of entrepreneurial networks and resource bricolage are introduced in detail, and the specific effectiveness of these strategies in improving corporate competitiveness is discussed. Finally, the research findings are summarized and suggestions for the future development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Taiwan's traditional industries are proposed.
Through this study, we hope to provide a valuable perspective to help Taiwanese traditional industry SMEs continue to develop and innovate in a highly competitive market environment. In the context of technological change, how these companies use entrepreneurial networks and resource bricolage will be the key to determining their future survival and success. It is hoped that the research in this article can provide useful reference and inspiration for policy makers, business operators and academic circles.
