  • 隨著無線通訊技術的進步與網際網路的蓬勃發展,E-Mail與SMS是已分別被廣泛地運用在有線與無線網路上的訊息服務。雖然SMS是第二代行動通訊系統中最受歡迎的服務但簡訊內容受限,而內容豐富的E-Mail則並沒有善用無線網路的行動優勢,兩者皆不足以滿足當前及未來對無線訊息的需求。

    相較於以往只能傳送較少文字與基本圖形的簡訊服務,MMS可以支援附有文字與彩色影音的多媒體訊息,甚至加值服務的資訊也可以透過MMS而傳遞給用戶。MMS在無線通訊的環境下結合了上述功能與無線網路的無限延伸特色,可以隨時隨地的提供多樣化資訊服務。

    因為多媒體訊息與加值服務資訊皆須經由訊息中心加以傳遞,所以,在這篇論文中,我們依據3GPP所制訂的MMS規格中之元件與介面,設計並實作一個多媒體訊息中心,除了既有可傳送多媒體訊息之外,還可以提供額外的加值服務,並且結合其他外部訊息伺服器,達到異質訊息系統的互通;同時根據用戶資料庫中的喜好設定對訊息做進一步處理,提供個人化與客製化的服務。


    With the rapidly growing Internet and the evolving wireless communications, both E-Mail and SMS have been widely used for messaging in fixed and wireless networks respectively. SMS and EMS have been very popular in the 2nd Generation (2G) of wireless communication systems, but with limited contents; moreover, E-Mail does not take advantages of mobility in wireless networks, neither is capable enough to fulfill the present and future demands of wireless messaging.

    MMS evolved from SMS, which allows mobile device users to send and retrieve messages with a rich combination of media elements, compared with SMS and EMS, such as text, color image, audio and video. Essentially, these messages are transferred through certain message centers.

    In this thesis, we design and implement one Multimedia Messaging Service Center according to MMS elements and interfaces as defined in 3GPP MMS-related standardizations. Besides already having MM transferred; moreover, this designed MMS Center can interoperate with other external servers and thus enables the integration of external messaging systems. The interworking with theses heterogeneous messaging systems may be available. Furthermore, the handling of messages may be based on user settings in the user databases while providing personalization and customization of services.
