As the times change and the modern lifestyle evolves, there is an increased emphasis on leisure activities and travel. The government views the tourism industry as a crucial development direction, aiming to promote tourism activities through policies and infrastructure enhancements in order to boost both domestic and international tourist numbers. Based on survey data from the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications spanning from 2011 to 2019, totaling 61,649 responses, this study explores the factors influencing satisfaction with transportation modes among incoming tourists, considering variables such as gender, age, income, education level, and nationality. Furthermore, the study investigates the impact of satisfaction with transportation on tourists' willingness to revisit Taiwan.
The research findings reveal that among taxi users, females, individuals with higher education (college and postgraduate), and travelers from the USA and Canada exhibit relatively higher satisfaction levels. Within Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) users, females, those with higher education, individuals with lower income, and tourists from the USA and Canada express relatively higher satisfaction. For Taiwan Railway (TaiRail) users, individuals aged 30 and above, those with higher education, lower income, and tourists from the USA and Canada all demonstrate higher satisfaction. As for privately operated bus services, higher education, lower income, and tourists from the USA and Canada show relatively higher satisfaction levels. Furthermore, satisfaction with each of transportation significantly influences tourists' willingness to revisit Taiwan, exhibiting a positive correlation.
