Based on the Theory of Planned Behavior, this study explores parents' behavioral intentions to involve their children in the after school sport program, focusing on how various variables affect these intentions. A total of 99 valid responses were collected (27 males and 72 females). The study measured the influence of parents' attitudes,
subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control on their behavioral intentions, using descriptive statistics, independent sample t-tests, Pearson correlation, and hierarchical regression for analysis. The results are as follows: 1) Only parents' preference for outdoor activities (sports) has a significant difference in behavioral intention. 2) Significant positive correlations between attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and behavioral intentions. 3) Among the three variables, perceived behavioral control had the greatest influence and an overall predictive power of 34%.
According to the results, factors such as the distance from the class to the home, classmates who attend class together, all are important influences. These results can provide suggestions for marketers, coaches, teachers, and future researchers.
