本研究以台南官田區之兩個勞動團體中的三位不同雇員以及各自的雇主為對象，進行調查與分析。其中，受雇者為擁有季節性短期工作的家庭主婦，雇主則是優先將熟識鄰里為雇用選擇，但並不將此模式稱為雇用；同時闡述這些農村婦女目前與過去的勞作經驗及持續進行中的零工勞動，所構成的勞動經驗和分配策略，以及建立在原有鄰里關係之上的勞雇關係為本文聚焦的重點。

報導人不管是受雇或是雇用的一方，皆將建立於鄰里關係上的雇用工作稱為「幫忙」，非鄰里關係者，則無此現象，而接近尋常之勞資關係，偏向於「工作」而非「幫忙」。本研究希望建立這些工作場域的形與象，從受雇的家庭主婦們日常生活中的勞動分配以及對於不同勞動的表現，來討論此現象的形成；以及不同身分、人際關係之間，勞動會有何種不同表現，即「關係」如何藉由「做」而現出來。

自認為是家庭主婦的報導人們，在勞動的分配上，會優先注重家庭，而後再評估與勞動團體的關係、自我需求與利益後，進行調整。在受到家庭主婦身分、家中成員影響的同時，也利用此身分，去選擇與爭取自己的發揮空間。

而將建立在人際紐帶的受雇關係稱為「幫忙」，則讓她們在維持原有關係的基礎之上，獲取利益的同時，也得到了從「仰賴與幫助」關係中，所產生的滿足感，有別於經由一般管道受雇；從其中非鄰里練結之勞資關係，則相對偏向有償之工作勞動實踐。

This study focuses on three individual laborer and their employees across two labor groups in Guantian, Tainan. The employees are housewives who prioritize seasonal short-term work for acquaintances in their townships without referring to their work as being actual employment. In addition, the study also delineates the past and present work experiences and conditions of these women in rural townships with a special emphasis on their labor experience and distribution in their employment, which is largely based on the existing urban/rural township.

The subjects, disregarding the employer or employee, always refer to employment occurring within their township as “neighborly assistance”, while work outside of the township are conducted under normal employment regulations and relations. This research hopes to outline the fundamental reasons for such phenomena and establish a framework for future discussions and regulations, particularly in terms of establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships and how “neighborly assistance” can help establish such social bonds.

The subjects, being self-acknowledged housewives, often prioritize their family before considering the conditions external labor as well as their personal needs and benefits. As a housewife beholden to the needs of family members, the subjects often negotiate work conditions appropriate to their individual conditions. By referring to their employments within their township as a form of “neighborly assistance”, the subjects not only receives financial benefits, but also a sense of personal fulfillment in being relied upon by their community, while their employments outside of the township with formal labor practices are more often view as actual “work”.
