有鑑於全球化趨勢下，對於語言工作者的需求日益趨增，據CSA估計2018年全球翻譯和語言服務市場營收約為465.2億美元，Nimdzi則估計2024年全球翻譯和語言服務市場約為727億美金，由此可見全球翻譯和語言產業市場之龐大。
然而，在國內的翻譯市場卻是僧多粥少、競爭者眾多，許多剛進入翻譯市場工作的新手，除了面臨部分客戶對於翻譯者專業程度的不重視及惡意砍價，更是缺乏透明化的接案管道，長期處於接案量不穩定與薪資低廉的情況下，影響翻譯者生計與此項語言服務市場的長期發展。近年來平台經濟的興起，全新的商業模式正快速發展，各個產業已跳脫傳統思維的框架，憑藉網路技術進步，將資源連結起來，藉由平台達到資源共享與供需媒合。
本研究觀察分析翻譯產業的現況和未來趨勢，發現目前全球翻譯和語言服務市場仍具有發展空間，若能夠結合平台營運模式，透過翻譯媒合平台的建置，提供消費者與譯者一個安全有保障的平台，興許可滿足市場需求，因此以問卷方式蒐集譯者對於翻譯媒合平台的看法與需求，提供翻譯產業未來發展之參考建議。

In view of the trend of globalization, the demand for language workers/translators is increasing progressively. According to CSA, the global translation and language services market revenue in 2018 was estimated to be about 46.52 billion USD and Nimdzi 100 (Language Services Market Analysis) estimated that the global translation and language services market in 2024 is to be about 72.7 billion USD. Which identified the translation and language industry market is quite huge in worldwide.
However, in Taiwan translation market, business cases are not enough for translators. In reality, newcomers got to encounter with customers, like to malicious bargaining, hence, lack of transparent channels to consolidate the business cases. The long-term unsystematized circumstance as well as unstable case intake with low wages, which really affects translators' livelihood and language services market development. In recent years, with the springing up the platform economy, brand-new business models are developing rapidly. With the advancement of network technology, various resources are connected by platforms which ware used for resource sharing, supply and demand matching.
This study reviews the current state and future trends of the translation industry. It finds that there is still room for growth in the global translation and language services market. By implementing platform-based operating models and establishing secure translation matchmaking platforms, we can potentially meet market demands. To gather insights, we surveyed translators to understand their views and requirements for such platforms, providing valuable suggestions for the future development of the translation industry.
