好幾年以來,指紋一直被廣泛的運用在身分辨識上。指紋辨識常用於身分認證,個人電子系統記錄,出入境管制,封條認證的選擇,犯罪察覺的存取控制。在這篇論文中,我們實做了一套指紋認證系統,它可以分成下列步驟:特徵點擷取,指紋分類和指紋比對。在第一個步驟中,我們擷取特徵點 “Endings” 和 “Bifurcations”。 接著,在指紋的分類步驟中,指紋可以分成五大類: (1) Arch、(2) Right loop、(3) Left loop、(4) Whorl 和 (5) Accidental, 此步驟是為了減少指紋比對的時間。最後我們可以藉由比對兩個指紋的特徵點去計算比對出來的分數來表示其相似度。
這套指紋認證系統測試在六個資料庫上,其中 Rindex28 和 Lindex28這兩個資料庫是由清華大學PRIP 實驗室蒐集得來的,另外DB1、DB2、DB3和DB4這四個資料庫是由FVC2000提供。此系統執行於Windows XP 環境的電腦上(Pentium 4 3.40GHz 和1GB SDRAM)。我們實驗得到的結果分別為 99.11% ( 111/112 ) ,87.87% ( 355/404 ) ,96.25% ( 77/80 ) ,87.75% ( 70/80 ) ,87.75% ( 70/80 ) ,以及82.50% ( 66/80 )。
