As organizations increasingly focus on enhancing employee well-being, the role of workplace mindfulness has garnered growing attention. However, the influence of personality traits on the relationship between workplace mindfulness and employee well-being remains underexplored. This study aims to investigate the impact of workplace mindfulness on employee well-being and examine the moderating role of the Big Five personality traits.

A questionnaire survey was conducted with 386 full-time employees in Taiwan. Using hierarchical regression analysis, the study tested hypotheses related to workplace mindfulness, the Big Five personality traits, and employee well-being. The results revealed that workplace mindfulness significantly and positively influences employee well-being. Notably, neuroticism was found to significantly moderate this relationship—higher levels of neuroticism weaken the positive impact of workplace mindfulness on employee well-being, whereas the other four personality traits (extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and openness to experience) did not show significant moderating effects. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how workplace mindfulness influences employee well-being, particularly in the context of personality traits. It fills a gap in existing research, establishes a new theoretical framework, and offers valuable insights for future studies and practical applications in organizational settings.
