This study examines how the different types of team conflicts influences team initiative climate and team knowledge sharing behavior. Data was collected from 88 R&D team, mainly Taiwanese. Hierarchical regressions were used for the statistical analyses.
Results indicated that the team conflict was related to team innovative behavior through initiative climate and team knowledge sharing behavior. The hypotheses that task conflict had positive effect on initiative climate and knowledge sharing behavior were not supported. However, task conflict and relationship conflict had negative effects on both two types of conflicts. In addition, this study found that initiative climate and team knowledge sharing behavior partially mediated the relationship between team conflict and team innovative behavior.
