This thesis is written in a particular threatening moment for multilateralism and world cooperation, since
some of the most important nations in the world have shifted to anti-globalization governments that seek
bilateralism in the agreements instead of multilateralism. The purpose of this thesis is making a defense
of the globalization and the international cooperation while analyzing how the regulation of the
international sale of goods has benefited the international economy. To explain the importance of
cooperation and multilateralism not only for the international economy but also for the international
peace, we use qualitative descriptive analysis method to explain the history of cooperation on the
international regulation of international sale of goods, how it has helped to create a safe environment for
buyers and sellers, how equal rules have fostered the economies of rich and poor countries and why the
cooperation trend should be maintained. For this purpose we study international organizations as
UNCITRAL, CCC or UNIDROIT and we analyze important regulations in the matter, starting with Lex
Mercatoria and deeply analyzing the details of The Vienna Convention, UNIDROIT principles and the
INCOTERMS. We also try to set light on how we can improve the current situation.
