本實驗使用主動採樣的方式,利用自填充Tenax TA吸附劑之吸附管為採樣媒介,進行對新竹清華大學原子科學系系館五樓的超微量分析實驗室、學生休息室、老師辦公室及五樓陽台合計三個室內環境及一個室外環境進行二十四小時的逐時採樣,再搭配熱脫附/氣象層析儀/火焰離子偵檢器作分析。在十七種目標揮發性有機化合物中,有四種為一般溶劑類,十三種為芳香環類化合物。經由分析數據結果顯示,實驗室室內環境是污染濃度較高的環境,其濃度總和為室外環境的兩倍;而學生休息室及老師辦公室之室內環境的濃度總和約是實驗室室內環境的60~65%。而BTEX及交通污染相關的化合物濃度分佈成雙波峰分佈,與採樣地點附近的新竹科學園區上下班時段相符合。一般溶劑類化合物的濃度分佈則隨人員活動時段有關,其污染來源則來自於同棟大樓其他實驗室。
