“在路上我害怕過,茫然過,不知所措過,但是我不會覺得難,因為我有目標,有希望,我覺得任何困難都是微不足道的事情。”這是我非常喜歡的一句話,我也常用來鼓勵自己。
感謝宏大成衣廠,讓我的職業生涯得以快速發展,很遺憾,由於家庭經營失敗,我離開了我心愛的成衣界。父親說“不會臭不會爛的生意才是最好的生意”,我覺得玩具這東西就是不會臭不會爛的生意,於是在我心底播下了創業的種子。
但是,在夢想和生存之間,仍存在著很大的差距,這在我到臺北上班後更有感觸,我想如果讓我選擇“做夢”和“吃飯”,我覺得“吃飯”更重要,吃飽了飯再做夢也不遲,就這樣我先後到了奇德玩具廠和博茂公司上班,期間為了生存,我還在晚上去酒店洗了三個月的毛巾來補貼家用
創業初期,非常艱難。1981年3月世貿有一個禮品展銷會。我設計了一個豬的家庭,我拿到展銷會場去,我一家一家問被一家一家的拒絕,我幾乎問遍了,但是沒有人願意給我一點點地方擺,最後他們拒絕到我都沒有信心了,我跑到洗手間坐在馬桶上大哭了一場。但我不認輸的個性,擦乾眼淚,繼續努力找機會,最後終於找到肯給我一個地方擺玩具的公司!也因此找到了第一個日本客戶。
隨著日本客人訂單的穩定,公司因產品打樣精確、訂單如期出貨,深受國外客人市場的喜愛,外銷訂單絡繹不絕,在石灣的工廠產能有限,而且工廠到了2004年有1000個工人。工人多了可是工廠還是那麼大。在2003年我去江西買了塊地,在那邊再蓋了個工廠,因為很多工人都是江西的,在江西蓋工廠,他們回家也方便,新廠除擁有全新電腦化設備,占地48000平方米,規劃500名員工,提供國外進口商及專利商標產品。此時,江西二廠成立後,為公司帶來了更多的商機,工廠每年平均能出口七十萬只26英寸的人型抱枕,產品皆通過玩具測試如EN-71,ASTM-F963等國際規格的檢驗。

“I was scared, overwhelmed, and didn’t know what to do. But I don't think it's hard because I have goals and hopes, and any difficulty is trivial." I like this sentence and use it to encourage myself all the time.
I am grateful to Hongda Garment Factory for allowing me to develop my career rapidly. However, due to the failure of family business, I had to leave my beloved garment industry. My father used to say "The business that won't be bad will always be the best business." I think selling toys is a business that won't be bad. The seed of entrepreneurship was planted in my heart.
However, there is still a big gap laying between dreams and realities, and I felt it bigger after working in Taipei. If you asked me to choose "dream" and "food", I think that "food" is more important. It is not too late to eat first and then dream. So I went to the Chid Toys Factory and Bo Mao Company to work. During the period, I was also a towel washer at a hotel for three months to support family finances.
At the beginning of the business, it was very difficult. In March 1981, the World Trade Center hosted a gift fair. I designed a pig family stuffed toys and brought them to the fair. At first I tried to ask vendors to lend me a spot to showcase my design. They rejected me, and almost no one was willing to give me a spot. Because I was not confident when I was rejected, I went to the bathroom and cried a lot. Yet I have a uncompromising personality. I dried my tears and continued to work harder to find opportunities. Finally, I found a company that was willing to give me a spot to showcase my toys! I also met my first Japanese customer at this fair.
With the stability of the order, the company was well received by foreign customers because of the accurate proofing of the products and the speed of order delivery. Export orders were in constant stream, and the factory reached 1,000 workers in 2004. The factory in Shiwan had limited capacity with increasing employees so I needed a bigger place. In 2003, I bought a 48000 square meters land in Jiang xi. I also bought in new computerized equipment and hired 500 local employees. This factory focused on foreign importers and patented products. The establishment of the second factory in Jiangxi brought more business opportunities to the company. The factory could export an average of 700,000 26-inch human-shaped pillows per year. The products were tested by international standards such as EN-71 and ASTM-F963.
