本論文主要使用硼酸熔融法合成新穎的低氧化態金屬亞磷酸化合物,藉此得到新型的鋰電池陰極材料;有別於一般所使用的固態合成法,我們使用一個溫度較低的硼酸熔融法來合成;此方法相較於一般傳統固態反應法是較簡易且節省能源的。本論文所介紹的五個化合物如下:
Li2[FeII4.8FeIII0.2(HPO3)5.8(BO3)0.2]∙H2O (A1)
(H3O){[FeIIIFeII2(H2O)(H2PO3)(HPO3)4[B(OH)2]} (A2)
K[FeIIIFeII2(HPO3)4] (A3)
Li[MnII1.5(HPO3)2] (A4)
Li2[MnII(HPO3)2] (A5)
此五個化合物皆為金屬亞磷酸化合物,其中A1具有一個以純二價鐵多面體連結而成的12環孔洞隧道,而A2具有在結晶學上獨立位置的硼酸、亞磷酸,是目前第一個硼亞磷酸化合物。A3則具有金屬與亞磷酸連結的10環孔洞。
研究中也發現此系列化合物在加熱至結構瓦解後,會發生氧化現象。本論文也對其氧化現象的過程,及氧化後的產物做深入的探討。其中化合物A1、A4、A5皆有成為鋰電池陰極材料的潛力,而A1也成功應用在鋰電池陰極材料上。
