This thesis utilized the hydrothermal method to synthesize a layered zincophosphate (A1) and five scandium containing compounds (S1-S5)

2,5-dihydroxyterephthalic acid, an ESIPT solid emitter-material, was successfully encapsulated into the interlayer of NTHU-3 resulting a novel supramolecule formation via one-pot hydrothermal synthesis, which formulae was determined to be (H3tren)2[Zn3(PO4)4] •(DHTP)2 (A1). The structure of A1 was thoroughly investigated under single crystal X-ray diffraction. Moreover, A1 emits pure yellow light under 365nm UV excitation.

S1 to S5, a series of novel scandium compounds, [H2Bpy] Sc2(H2PO4)2(HPO4)3, a layered 2-D organic templated scandium phosphate (S1), [H2Bpy][Sc2(H2O)(HPO3)4].2H2O, a layered 2-D organic templated scandium phosphite (S2),Fe(Bpy)(H2O)2Sc(HPO3)3.H2O, a pillared iron-scandium organic-inorganic hybrid framework (S3) and two complex mixed-metal inorganic scandium phosphite frameworks, Sc3Mg8 (H2O)8(HPO3)12(H2PO3) and Sr2Sc(HPO3)3(H2PO3) (S4 and S5 with respectively) were successfully synthesized and characterized under single crystal X-ray diffraction. In this part, the optimized synthesis conditions, structural characterizations of S1 to S5 and the photoluminescence property of S4 and S5 are thoroughly described and discussed.
