Cup-1-construction 是 M.\ E.\ Mahowald 與 M.\ G.\ Barratt 在
1980 年代對 Hopt Invariant 的研究中得到的數學建構。1985 年他
們連同 J.\ D.\ S.\ Jones 於 [1] 發表了相關的研究，包含
cup-1-construction 的定義，並提及其非自然的加法公式。在此我
用詳細而且幾何上較為直觀的方法，重新證明了這個加法公式。

方法上我利用 quadratic construction 的基本性質取出幾個同胚空
間。由於 cup-1-construction 乃利用 quadratic construction 定
義而成，我們得以將代表加法公式兩側的合成函數，置換為較簡單的
同胚合成函數。這讓我們能逐段解出合成函數的作用，以證明該等式
真確。另一項收獲是我們得以瞭解加法公式中每一項的成因。

In \cite{kervaire} was given the definition of cup-1-construction
with a mention of its non-additivity. This thesis gives a detail
and more intuitive proof of this phenomenon.
